A West Coast IPA is the biggest, fruitiest, piniest, citrusy..er..est type of IPA. It’s a beer that bowls you over with a volcano of grapefruit, lemon, and pine. It’s all about hops, hops and hops, with the malt having a say in a grainy, sweet contrast to all this fruit.
Honest Weight refers to the balance in the Scales of Justice between the measure of a case’s support and opposition. For us, it also refers to the balance of all components we strive for in our beers – even in IPA, which often times lack balance these days.
Like all IPA’s this beer will balance and cut through fat and grease. Cheese, burgers, and fried foods will all work well. Additionally, citrus heavy foods from salads to fish to chicken will also work. The bitterness will accentuate hot spiciness and be generally unpleasant.
