A simple kettle style Berliner Weisse with copious amounts of Raspberry. Lactose is added to provide a touch of sweetness to this exotic colored wheat ale.
The name comes from the style. Berlin Beere is a raspberry Berliner Weisse. A style we love for its sharp sour notes and malt forward notes. We add hundreds of pounds of raspberry making this a “berry” beer.
With its crispness, Berliner Weisse is a great palate cleanser and its tartness makes it a no-brainer pairing for some snack foods like French fries, potato chips, and pretzels.
Salads that have some fruit component work well. For cheese, go with the funk. Soft-ripened goat milk cheese, washed-rind cheese or blue.
